CIRCLEVILLE – Pumpkin Show visitors will have a unique opportunity this year, as the Lima Company Traveling Memorial is making a stop at the Circleville Pumpkin Show.

The memorial will be housed at Memorial Hall, located on the corner of Main and Pickaway streets, within the Pickaway County Family YMCA Dance Studio, and was made possible by the Soldiers Monumental Association, The Pickaway County Commissioners and the Pumpkin Show Committee.

The memorial itself is described as an “…interactive, traveling, real-time tribute that honors the service and sacrifice of all who answer our nation’s call,” according to its website at limacompanymemorial.org.

The memorial was created in honor of the 23 fallen members of Lima 3/25 who were killed in action in Iraq in 2005. However, the memorial is truly meant to salute our nation’s military and their families.

The Eyes of Freedom: Lima Company Memorial was created by artist Anita Miller and features 23 life-size portraits of the fallen soldiers of Lima 3/25. The memorial has toured throughout the United States.

Guests can view the memorial by entering Memorial Hall at the Pickaway Street entrance. The memorial hours will be 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily throughout the Pumpkin Show.
