Mona Jean Speakman, 80, of Laurelville, passed away on Sept. 23, 2015.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1935, in Pickaway County, to the late Burton and Vivian (Lively) Haynes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Neva Thaxton and Karen Haynes.
Mona was a lifelong member of the Whisler Presbyterian Church, where she played organ for many years. She loved music and not only played at church, but also taught piano lessons.
Mona was a strong, smart and generous woman who will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles; her children, Debbie (Fred) Marshall, Tim (Jeanett) Speakman, Kathy Pospichel, and Kenny (Kim) Speakman; her grandchildren, Nicole Speakman, Levi Marshall, Burton Speakman, Kara Ebert, Taylor Pospichel, Kendal Ellerman and Mason Pospichel; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Mona will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Whisler Presbyterian Church, 11486 Hayesville Rd., Kingston, with Pastor Don Frank officiating.
Memorial contributions in Mona’s memory may be made to the Whisler Presbyterian Church.
