Alice Lucile Pickel, 100, of Circleville, passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015.
She was born on March 9, 1915, in Springerton, Illinois, to John and Mildred (Compton) Carter.
She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the American Legion #134 Auxiliary and was an avid bowler until 96 years old.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Albert Carter; and by son-in-law, Jim Mapes.
Alice is survived by her daughters, Mary Mapes, Nancy (Robert Free) Howard and Judy (Ron) White; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and by one sister, Pauline Laurie of Maumee.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, at the Wellman Funeral Home with burial of the ashes at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Saturday until the time of service at 3 p.m.
