Harold W. “Gundy” VanGundy, age 60, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, at Fairfield Medical Center.
He was born March 27, 1955, in Amanda, to Herbert and Aileen (Bowersock) VanGundy.
He retired from Southeast Correctional Facility with over 15 years of service.
Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Andy (Mariangela) VanGundy, Troy VanGundy and Stephanie Fox Schwader; grandchildren, Gage, Meghan, Bradon, Emmitt, Shania, Kassie, Cody and Molly; great-grandchildren, Layla and Weston; brother, Herb (Sis) VanGundy; sisters, Ginny (Winsell) Murphy, Rose (Jack) Sammons, Deb (Butch) Hart and Loretta (Tom) Hill; step-children, Misty Smith and Jennifer (Scott) VanCuren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Eugene VanGundy.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda, with cremation to follow.
