Richard L. Phebus, 78, of Ringgold, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, in Lancaster.
He was born on May 31, 1937, in Circleville, to Edward and Marjorie (Wolf) Phebus, who precede him.
Richard was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church of Lancaster, Lancaster Masonic Lodge all York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies and Shrine and Rushville Lions Club.
Richard attended Circleville Schools through 11th grade, then graduated from Lancaster.
Richard started at the Pickerington Creamery, and then retired from Anchor Hocking in Lancaster, then to MPW, to where he was still actively working at Coughlin Automotive.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty J. (Moore) Phebus; sons, Walter Phebus of Virginia, Andy (Karen) Phebus of Lancaster and Richard (Bonnie) Phebus Jr. of Circleville; daughter, Tracy (Kit) Zealer of Circleville; grandchildren, Adam (Heather), Zack, Heath (Chloe), Megan, Bailey, Brooke, Landon, Levi, Mason, Madison and Maddox Zealer, and Richard III, Josh and Andrew Jr. Phebus; and great-grandsons, Hunter, Hayden and Derick.
His world was his grandkids, especially his little sidekick, Levi.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Rev. Dr. Emil H. Klatt III officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
