Edgar James “Jim” Dyer Jr., 57, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 12:47 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015, in Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center.
He was born July 16, 1958, in Ross County, to the late Edgar James Sr. and Gertrude Wright Dyer.
Surviving are children, Shanay-nay Dyer (Steve) Wilson of Richwood, Kris (Jessica) Dyer of Ashville and Jamie (Christina) Dyer of Chillicothe; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; former wife, Kathy Dyer of Chillicothe; a brother, Bob Cantrell; sisters, Ethel (Alvis) Perry of Naples, Florida, Jan Bentley of Waverly, Ina (James) Davis of Chillicothe and Loretta (Charles) Cruze of Beaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Angela M. Dyer; a brother, Frank Cantrell; and a sister, Virginia H. Hurley.
Jim was a retired mechanic.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, in Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Caleb Cooper officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home to help the family.
