Dr. Noel David Burton, 79, of Circleville, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1936, the son of Charles Raymond and Garnet Victoria (Tingler) Burton.
Rev. Burton attended and graduated from East High School in 1955. He attended Tennessee Temple University from 1955-1958. He also attended Bible Baptist Seminary and received a Bachelor of Divinity and concluded his education and graduated at Slidell, Louisiana. Dr. Burton continued his call to the ministry in 1965.
On the 28th of June, 1963, he married Judith Ann Tinney. They were blessed with five children, Pamela Gay Burton, Noel D. Burton Jr., Candice Joy Burton, Timothy Curtis Burton and the youngest child, Amanda Lee Burton, along with nine grandchildren.
After 41 years of marriage, Judith Burton went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 21, 2004.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and son, David Burton.
Rev. Burton was a member of Freewill Baptist Church, where he was a trustee and deacon. Six years after the death of Judy Burton, he proposed to and married his high school sweetheart, Norma (McKelvey) Burton. Mrs. Norma Burton is the mother of Michelle (Dennie) Evans and Tim (Renee) Lochbaum.
His family is very active in church planning and soul winning.
Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in Noel’s name.
