Georgia “Marcella” Arledge, age 99, of Stoutsville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2015, surrounded by her family at the Pickering House.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1915, to the late George and Jeanetta Mae (Conrad) Rhymer.
Marcella was an active and a loving mother to nine children. She loved working in her flowers and was often called by friends “Mother Nature.” She loved playing music with her husband and children.
Marcella is survived by her loving family, Shirley (Neal) Wolfe of Circleville, Rosalie Caldwell of South Bloomfield, Frank (Nancy) Arledge of Stoutsville, Sharon Tolliver, Marilyn Darling and Leland (Cindi) Arledge, all of Lancaster; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Hartley of Stoutsville; and brother, Merle Rhymer of Amanda. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but was blessed with many happy years of memories.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; sons, Raymond, Jerry and Clyde, Jr.; grandsons, Tim Aldenderfer and Tony Arledge; four sisters and three brothers; and son-in-law, Gary Darling.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Rev. John Michles officiating. Burial to follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
