WILLIAMSPORT – The Deercreek Dam Days Festival has wrapped up for another year, and organizers said the event that has struggled in the past couldn’t have gone better this time around.
“The whole festival was fabulous,” said Patricia Pettit, vice president of the Deercreek Dam Days committee. “We couldn’t have had a better week. The weather was great, and it’s been so good for the morale in the community.”
Pettit said everyone is still experiencing a “Clydesdale hangover” after hosting the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales in a Salute to Veterans parade on Friday.
“Everyone’s kind of walking around with this glassy-eyed gaze and smiles that they were even in town,” she said. “Everything just turned out so great.”
Organizers also ushered in a new set of royalty to represent the festival for 2015.
Aimee Williams, 17, of Circleville, was selected as the 2015 Deercreek Dam Days Queen. She is the daughter of Diane Bond. Her court includes first attendant Allyson Gritter, 18, of Commercial Point, daughter of Todd and Jenny Gritter; and second attendant Brianna Murray, 17, of Circleville, daughter of Steve Murray.
Avalon Haven, 12, of Commercial Point, was named Jr. Queen this year. She is the daughter of Alicia Hall. Her court includes first attendant Alexis Fletcher, 12, of Circleville, daughter of Stephanie Reincheld; and Ambrosia Haven, 13, of Commercial Point, daughter of Alicia Hall.
Anam Haven, 8, of Commercial Point, will reign as Deercreek Dam Days Prince this year. He is the son of Alicia Hall. His first attendant is Jayden Downs, 7, of Circleville, son of Kasey Davis and Brandon Downs. Second attendant is Ryder McCabe, 6, of Circleville, son of Michelle McCabe.
This year’s Princess is Logan Ruth, 5, of Williamsport, daughter of Sean and T.J. Ruth. Her court includes first attendant Cicely Esterline, 6, of Circleville, daughter of Caleb and Caryn Esterline; and second attendant Eliza Barnes, 5, of Williamsport, daughter of Wesley and Katie Barnes.
