WILLIAMSPORT – The Deercreek Dam Days Festival is set to welcome the Budweiser Clydesdales on Friday during the annual festival that kicks off today in the Williamsport village square.
The world-famous Clydesdales will be on display from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Friday at Pettit’s IGA in Williamsport, then will participate in a special Salute to Veterans parade at 5 p.m. before heading to Chillicothe for additional events over the weekend.
In the meantime, visitors will find plenty to keep themselves entertained during the festival that runs Wednesday through Sunday this week, including royalty contests, a full midway, free concerts and other attractions.
Wednesday’s schedule kicks off at 4 p.m. with the Junior Queen pre-judging at 3 p.m. at the Legion Hall on Green Street, followed by the opening of the festival’s midway at 4 p.m.
The 7 Mile Blue Grass Band will perform on the Berger Stage from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by the Junior Queen, Prince/Princess and Pet Parade at 6 p.m.
At 6:45 p.m. will be the Festival Court introduction and Queen’s speech, with the Prince/Princess and Junior Queen contest beginning at 7 p.m. on the Berger Stage.
The midway closes at 10 p.m. Wednesday and will reopen at 4 p.m. Thursday.
