CIRCLEVILLE – The Memorial Day parade to Forest Cemetery on Monday marked Circleville’s annual tribute to its veterans and fallen heroes.
Services began in the High Street Cemetery at 8:30 a.m., followed by the parade to a second ceremony at Forest Cemetery. Honored guests included parade Grand Marshals Ralph Ankrom and Alva (Frosty) Hoffman. The services also honored Morris L. Bayes, 98, as Pickaway County’s oldest living veteran.
In the Ashville area, Memorial Day services were set for 11 a.m. in the Harrison Township Cemetery in South Bloomfield, followed by a second ceremony at Floral Hills Memory Gardens at 1 p.m., and another at 2 p.m. at Reber Hill Cemetery.
Muhlenberg Township’s Memorial Day parade began at 10:40 a.m. at the park in Darbyville, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Muhlenberg Township Cemetery.
The Williamsport Memorial Day program was set for 1 p.m. at the Christian Cemetery, followed by a parade to the Springlawn Cemetery for a 2 p.m. program.
