CIRCLEVILLE – The staff of a local business surprised their boss Monday with a potluck luncheon to celebrate a recent honor from the Pickaway County Chamber of Commerce.
Ann Freeman, owner of Circleville Physical Therapy, was named Business Person of the Year last week at the annual Chamber dinner.
Staff members said the luncheon was a way for them to thank Freeman for her efforts as an employer as well as express their pride in her recent honor.
“We know that award was for her contributions to the community, but she does just as much, if not more, for us here as she does for the community,” said Casey Haldeman.
The business, which opened in 1988, now employs 18 people at its facility at 1414 N. Court St., and Freeman said she tries to maintain a fun atmosphere for the people she considers her second family.
“This really is our home away from home, and we try to make everyone feel like a part of that,” Freeman said.
