James Robert Allen, 70, of Bremen, passed away May 8, 2015, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 6, 1944, in Circleville, to Harold R. Allen and Garnet Allen.

He graduated from Circleville High School and retired from the Fairfield County Auditor’s Office. He was a former member of the Bremen Masonic Lodge; member of the Independent Cruisers Car Club; member of Anglers Paradise; previously held several positions with the Fairfield County Democratic Party; and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Allen, and would have been married for 50 years on Dec. 2, 2015; son, Douglas K. Allen of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter, Megalyn Allen of Bremen; sister, Barbara J. (Charles) Gerhardt of Circleville; half-sister, Donna Jewell of Kerrville, Texas; grandchildren, Kambri, Keyara and Kaden Allen of Ft. Worth, Texas, Natasha and Gabriella Rodriguez of Bremen, and Zierra and Alaina Langham of Columbus; sisters-in-law, Nancy Owens of Bremen and Jackie Seimer of Lancaster; special friends that he considered brothers, Robert Frisby, James Renner and James Cohagan; additional family Juan Rodriguez, and Michael Langham; several nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Richard.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lancaster with Bishop Joel Carroll. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Bremen.

Calling hours were held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan, and will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
