Dorothy L. Dotson, age 82, of Darbyville, passed away Dec. 30, 2016, at Logan Elm Health Care in Circleville.
She was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Mingo County, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robey and Callie (Amos) Ward; husband, Joda Dotson; grandson, William Anthony Dotson; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Dotson; sisters, Myrtle Browning, Mary Berry and Sis Ellis; and brothers, John, Lincoln, Ben, Clarence, Jim and George Ward.
She is survived by her loving family, including daughter, Delores (Richard) McCoy of Darbyville; son, Lawrence (Tami) Dotson of Mt. Sterling; brother, Dan Ward of West Virginia; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; friend and roommate at Logan Elm, Mabel Fullen; and special friends, Isom and Tootie.
Dorothy’s family would like to thank all the caregivers at Logan Elm Care Center.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling, Rev. Danny Ward officiating, with the interment following in Muhlenberg Township Cemetery in Darbyville. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
