Paul E. Caudy, 82, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, in St. Catherine’s Manor, Washington Court House.

He was born Sept. 2, 1934, in Pickaway County, Ohi.

Paul had retired from DuPont, having been employed for over 30 years. He enjoyed being a volunteer of the Mt. Sterling Fire Dept., the Auxiliary Police Dept. and the official morning coffee maker of Ben & Joy’s Restaurant. He shoveled snow with his small John Deere tractor and had a lawn mower repair business. He was also an avid Buckeye fan, and he loved farming for his family.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Florence (Ingram) Caudy; and brothers, Russell, Daryl and Francis Caudy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bertie; daughters, Sherry Cornett and Teresa Caudy; sons, Mike and Phil Caudy; Robbie (Rick) Abbott, Jeff Griffith, John (Deb) Griffith and Rachelle (Jared) Mullins; sister, Marjorie Eggleton; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling, Rev. Dortha Ross, Billy Warner and Pastor Jeff Griffith officiating, with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. The Circleville AMVETS Post #2256 will perform a military service at the graveside for the Army veteran of the Korean War. Family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
