Philip E. Richardson

Philip E. Richardson, age 83, of Apollo Beach, Florida, passed away on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at his residence.

Philip was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Athens County, to the late Clyde and Elizabeth Richardson.

He was married to the love of his life, Shirley, on Jan. 24, 1956.

Philip graduated from Mt. Sterling High School in 1951. He attended Ohio University and served in the U.S. Army.

Philip was a millwright by trade, and he owned and operated Columbus Millwright Services in Mt. Sterling. Philip moved to Apollo Beach, FL in 1994 where he owned and operated the Apollo Beach Marina until the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; siblings, Claudine, Doris, Dale and Louis; and his in-laws, Tommy and Georgia Midgley.

He is survived by his children, Phyllis (Bob) Rinsma, Tom (Kim) Richardson and Bruce (Deanna) Richardson; grandchildren, Lindsey (Rick) Campbell, Steven (Erin) Rinsma, Scott Rinsma, Erin (Alex) Hildebrandt, Tyler Richardson and Sarah Rinsma; great-grandson, Maxwell Campbell; sister, Betty (Jack) Trickler; sister-in-law, Sue (Jim) Douglas; numerous nieces, nephews and his Apollo Beach family.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Pleasant Cemetery.
