Glenna M. Brown Shook, 83, of Avon Park, Florida, died, Aug. 9, 2016.

She was born Nov. 29, 1932, in Ironton, the daughter of Rufus and Nellie (Thornton) Nance.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Rev. Donald L. Brown and Rev. Clarence “Bud” Shook.

She is survived by her children, Dennis (Dena) Brown of Grove City, Daryl (Becky) Brown of Avon Park, Florida, and Michael (Donna) Brown of Santa Cruz, Boliva, South America; grandchildren, Mark, Karla, Courtney, Dylon, Devon, Nathan and Eva; and by brother, Raymond (Jane) Nance.

Glenna was a part of the Circleville community for more than 30 years. She was director of the music department at Circleville Bible College/Ohio Christian University. Her ministry with choirs, vocal groups, cantatas, concerts and varied other special musical performances, as well as through the classroom, impacted the lives of thousands of students and local churches in Circleville, around Ohio and beyond.

Along with her first husband, Donald Brown, she served as a teacher in a short-term mission assignment on the island of Dominica, West Indies, and has been an avid supporter and advocate for the mission ministries of World Gospel Mission for many years.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
