Lloyd Stires, 86, of Mt. Sterling, died Aug. 4, 2016, in Mt. Carmel West.
He was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Mt. Sterling.
He was preceded in death by parents, Thomas & Mabel (Riley) Stires; son, Rick Cotton; daughter, Sandy Allen; brothers, Eldon, Robert, Ronald, Seymour Lee, Pearl, William and Frederick; and sister, Mary Lou Ladley.
He is survived by son, David Stires, and wife Stephanie; longtime companion, Shirley Thacker; brother, Donald Stires; grandchildren, Darren and Tiffany; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends in celebrating the life of Lloyd from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at the First Church of the Nazarene, 226 N. Market St., Mt. Sterling. In keeping with his wishes cremation has been requested.
