Ruthayn Mertz, 71, of Ashville, passed away on Aug. 3, 2016.
She was born on Dec. 5, 1944, in Columbus, to Theodore and Dorothy (Berkheimer) Queen.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a former member of the Board of Directors Pickaway Agriculture Society, served as treasurer and vice president of Pickaway County Womens Republican Club and committee woman GOP Central Committee.
Ruthayn is survived by her husband, Dennis “Denny” Mertz; children, Kim (Vaughn) Pennington, Karin (Mike) Yahraus, Kathi Mertz, Kassandra “Sandy” Mertz and Kyle Mertz; grandchildren, Tyler and Caitlin Pennington, Trent and Ashley Yahraus and Angel Mertz; and by sister, Sandy (Dave) Carver.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with David Carver officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
