Virgil Allen, 79, of South Bloomfield, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016, surrounded by family.
He was born on April 29, 1937, in Pineville, Kentucky. He had worked as a welder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy (York) and Harvey Allen; and his wife, Thelma (Warix) Allen.
Virgil is survived by his children, Jeryl Harris, Tom (Delinda) Allen, Tracy Allen, Denny (Valerie) Allen, Jennifer (Greg) Sturgill and Eric (Joey) Allen; grandchildren, Tommy, Gregg, and TJ McConahay, Tiffany and Cassy Allen, Holly Smith, Billy Williams, Megan Embrey, Michelle Karshner, Kelli Peters, Karri Smith, Gregory Sturgill and Molly Allen; as well as several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, with a funeral Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Lockbourne.
