Ralph D. Heil

Ralph D. Heil, 92, of Circleville, went home to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at The Pickering House in Lancaster.

He was born on Feb. 7, 1924, in Franklin County, to the late Adam and Alma (Karch) Heil.

Ralph had retired after 42 years for Wilson Floor Company and was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Pickaway Senior Center and the YMCA.

He attended Emmanuel United Methodist in Circleville and was an avid golfer.

Ralph was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II and a graduate of Hamilton Township High School Class of 1942.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Esther Smith, on April 24, 2008; brothers, Floyd, John and Ed; and sisters, Mary Meyers and Margaret Heiser.

He is survived by daughters, Janice (Tim) Novotni of Lancaster and Jeanette (Jim) Hayes of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Jessica (Clint) Murphy, Megan Novotni and Taylor Novotni, Casey (Jeffrey) Johnson and Jimmy (Taylor) Hayes; great-grandchildren, Cailee and Maximus Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, July 18, 2016, in the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, with Pastor Ty Myers officiating. Friends may from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon on Monday. Interment will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield.
