Shirley Rose Clawson, age 78, of Ashville, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Mt. Carmel West Hospital.
She was born on Aug. 30, 1937, in London, England, to Charles John and Florence (Moore) East.
Shirley had worked at Orient State Institute for 27 years and also had been employed at Park West Rehabilitation Facility in Columbus and The Redman Facility in west Columbus.
Shirley was preceded in death by husband, Robert Clawson; and a sister, Vera.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Nancy) Clawson of Columbus; daughter, Sherrlynn “Sparky” Clawson of Ashville; siblings, Kenny East and Iris Hewer of England; grandchildren, David (Lori) Headlee, Brian and Angela Clawson and Natasha (Josh) Fyffe; great-grandchildren, Rayshell, Raylynn, Kennedy, David (Alex), Joshua and Landon; nephew, Galen Edwards; niece, Melanie Knupp; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
At Shirley’s request, cremation will take place, and no memorial service or calling hours will be observed.
