Marlene M. Fullen, 90, of Circleville, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016, at her daughter’s residence.
She was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Circleville, the daughter of Waldo Porter and Florence (Valentine) Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Owen E. Fullen, in 1989; sister, Mae E. Huggins; brother, Porter “Bud” Martin Jr.; daughter-in-law, Loretta S. (McFarland) Fullen; sisters-in-law, Susan Martin and Nancy Martin; and brothers-in-law, William Shelton, John Noecker, Ralph Stir and Jack Melvin.
Marlene attended Good Shepherd United Methodist Church until recent years. She started her career in banking at the Second National Bank and retired in 1989.
She enjoyed spending time with family, going to Captain D’s on Wednesdays with her siblings, attending her grandkids’ games, sneaking double-stuffed Oreos with her coffee and listening to Maddie sing to her.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Carlene (Jerry) Francis; son, Martin C. Fullen; step-son, Steven (Onda) Fullen; grandchildren, Amy (Brian) Comford, Kathlene M. Young, Valerie (Judson) Karshner, Jaclyn Martin, Bradley Fullen, Jeff (Marla) Fullen and Tami (Andy) Johnson; 17 great-grandchildren, including Maddie Young who lived with and helped care for Grandma the last several years. Also surviving are sisters, Marguerite Shelton, Vivian Noecker and Betty Melvin; brothers, Wilson Martin and Ernest (Karen) Martin; sister-in-law, Sharon Martin; brother-in-law, Richard Huggins; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Martin Kepner officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
