Dale E. Abernathy Sr., age 79, of Derby, died May 29, 2016, at Doctors West in Columbus.
He was born March 16, 1937, in Pickaway County.
He was preceded in death by father, William Abernathy; mother, Christina Sollars Sines; wife, Patricia; sons, Dale Jr., Robert and Michael; daughter, Angela; and two infant sons.
He is survived by sons, Hank and Andrew; daughter, Becky; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Tom and Leonard; and one sister, Mary Jean (Carroll) Liston.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling, Rev. Densil Wright officiating, with the burial following in Pleasant Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to time of service.
