Johnnie James Downing Jr., 55, of Chillicothe, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Ross County Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Sunday.
He was born Nov. 9, 1960, at Bourneville in Ross County, to Johnnie James and Nancy Depoy Downing.
John was a heavy equipment truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father.
John is survived by his mother, Nancy Depoy Fenneken of New Holland and her husband, John; a sister, Candy McCann of Chillicothe; several step-brothers and sisters; and nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation took place. Arrangements for a graveside service to be held at the Twin Township Cemetery in Bourneville are being completed and will be announced later by the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland.
