Lee David Griffith, 48, of Chillicothe, died 6:06 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Pickering House, Lancaster, after a 10-month battle with brain cancer.

He was born Jan. 13, 1968, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Okie and Norma (Parker) Griffith.

He is survived by a son, Ethan Mark Griffith from a previous marriage to Tammy Bowling Francis, both of Chillicothe; a brother, John Steven Griffith of Ashland, Kentucky; an aunt and uncle, James and Beulah Parker of Ashland, Kentucky; a cousin and caretaker, Sherry (Mike) Kneece of Circleville; cousins, John (Roberta) Parker of Ashland, Kentucky, Tom (Melodie) Parker of Hughesville, Maryland, and Jim (Sue) Clarke of Lexington, Kentucky.

Lee graduated from Paul Blazer High School in Ashland, Kentucky, and Ohio University earning a business administration degree. He worked for American Electric Power and Kentucky Power for 27 years. At career end, he was working as a principal technician designing electrical service for businesses, residences and roadways.

He loved reading, writing, music, movies, cars and cooking. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan and a true country boy.

He will be greatly missed by special friend, caretaker and co-worker, Scott Pugh of Lancaster. Special thanks to his extended work family, Brent Gates and the AEP workers of Chillicothe. Special thanks to a wide circle of helpful and caring friends. Special thanks for excellent care to Adena Cancer Center, Adena Home Health, OSU Wexner Medical Center and FairHope Hospice and Palliative Care and Pickering House.

A private service will be held for family at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, Kentucky. There will be no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions may be sent in Lee’s name to FairHope Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, Ohio 43130. Contribution forms can be obtained at www.fairhopehospice.org.
