MSgt Robert (Bob) Duffey (USAF. Ret.), of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away on April 12, 2016.
Bob was born in Halifax, Virginia, to the late Robert and Elizabeth Duffey.
Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served 20 years of dedicated service before retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Bob then worked on Robins Air Force Base, supervising the RAFB NCO Dining Hall and at the Motor Pool, meeting pilots and crews from different countries for the next 25 years. He was a past member of the American Legion, Post 172.
Bob was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. He loved to fish and often said, “There wasn’t enough time to do as much as he would have liked to.”
Bob’s memory will be remembered by his wife, Margaret; son, Dean (Janet) Duffey of Warner Robins; daughter, Denise (Todd) Sappe of Warner Robins; son, Dane Duffey of Decatur, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Deanna (Jeff) Levensailer of Raleigh, North Carolina, Trent Sappe of Savannah, Georgia, Jalena Duffey of Warner Robins, Brent Sappe of Warner Robins, Haley Duffey of Athens, Georgia, Rachel Duffey of Athens, Georgia, Paul Duffey of Athens, Georgia, and Garrentt Duffey of Warner Robins; and siblings, Gladys Lacks, Margaret Lacks and Jean Francisco of Halifax, Virginia. He will be greatly missed by his friend and brother/sister-in-law, Robert (Bob) and Vera Hall of Warner Robins, and his long-time friends, John and Janice Zeimer of Ft. Myers, Florida.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Warner Robins. Funeral services will also be held in the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. Following the funeral service, Bob will be laid to rest in the Parkway Memorial Gardens with military honors. Family and friends are invited to attend. A video tribute celebrating Bob’s life will be viewed at the Chapel.
