Betty Jane Smith, 92, of Ashville, passed away at Pickaway Manor on Friday, April 8, 2016, in Circleville.
She was born to the late Phillip and Gertrude (Hampson) Lanman in Ashville.
Betty was a graduate of Walnut School and member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, Ashville Pythian Sisters and Pickaway Senior Center.
She was a homemaker and worked the farm alongside her husband, Nolan Smith, who preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded by daughter, Vicki Berry; brother, Phil Lanman; and sisters, Frances Smith and Carolyn Young.
Betty was a loving wife and mother and is survived by children, Michael (Delores) Smith of Circleville, Richard (Kristy) Smith of Lockbourne, Robert (Cheryl) Smith of Kingston, Phyllis (Robert) Deppe of Ashville and Pamela Smith of Upper Arlington; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Susie Lanman of Grove City.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Barbara Wood Salyers and Rev. Charles Muller officiating. Interment will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield.
