Christopher R. Garrett

Christopher R. Garrett, 55, of Circleville, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus.

He was born Dec. 30, 1960, in Columbus, the son of Donald L. and Carol Ann (Jinks) Garrett.

Chris was preceded in death by his very good friend, Grace Richards.

Chris was quiet and laid back, a homebody who didn’t like drama. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, cooking on the grill and going to Myrtle Beach with Helen and his parents. He liked doing auto body work and was an excellent woodworker. Of all the things Chris liked to do, he especially loved working on the Richards Family Farm and considered it his “life.”

Chris will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind: his parents; his wife, Helen (Reymer) Garrett; children, Devan (Sammy) Stewart, Angel Garrett, Kayla (David McClarren) Garrett and Linsey (John) Bode; step-children, Katie (JJ Kiser) Robison, Joey Robison, Kelly Frazier, April (Steven) Downard and Cooper (Lynn) Mahoney; 23 grandkids; brother, Terry (Cheryl) Garrett; sister, Michele Spillane; several nieces and nephews; special friends whom he considered his “adopted” family, Bill Richards, Bruce “Rich” (Betsy) Richards and Elmon (Connie) Richards; and his good friends and co-workers, Yuri Baikov, Lee Bowser, Nancy McCain and Miedema Dairy.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Jeri-Lynne Bouterse officiating. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
