Clarence Edward Riffle, 74, of Stoutsville, passed away on March 30, 2016.

He was born on Dec. 29, 1941, in Pickaway County, to Bryan and Sylvia (Calvert) Riffle.

Clarence served in the National Guard, retired from Ralston Purina as a truck driver and was an auxiliary deputy for the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Caulena Louise Riffle Evans, on Feb. 28, 2009; siblings and their spouses, Tom and Jean Riffle, Fred and Maye Riffle, Toots and Russ Smith, Irene Sowers, Bobby Riffle and Ned Riffle.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Bernice (Tait) Riffle; children, Diane (Joe) Bethel; grandchildren, Brandon (Brittany) Evans, Casey (Brandy) Sullivan and Nathan (Jessica) Bethel; great-grandchildren, Jaylee and Reagan Evans; siblings, Esther Davis, Harriet Brown, Dick (Kathryn) Riffle, Ronnie (Charlene) Riffle, Joann (Don) Greeno, Bonnie Forquer, Connie Hanley and Sheri Grant; brother-in-law, Dave (Pat) Tait and their sons, Davey and Jeffy; special nephews, Ronnie (Marlo), Randy (Cindi), Robbie and girls; and by many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the Wellman Funeral Home. There will be no funeral service. Cremation will take place.
