Wilma Eldridge, 88, of Chillicothe, died 9:24 a.m. March 24, 2016, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Garrison, Kentucky, the daughter of Martin Luther Cartee and Etta (Howard) Cartee.
On Oct. 4, 1947, she married Williard Eldridge, who preceded her in death on July 23, 2001.
She had worked at the White Laundry, VA Medical Center and the Shoe Factory early in life, but spent the majority of her work life raising the family. Wilma attended Spud Run Bible Christian Church.
She is survived by five sons, Gary (Cheryl) Eldridge, of Ray, Steven (Ruby) Eldridge, Scott Eldridge, Terry (Brenna) Eldridge, all of Chillicothe, and Sam (Jana) Eldridge of Circleville. She was the grandmother to 16 grandchildren and the great-grandmother to 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Eldridge. She had seven brothers and five sisters who, along with her parents, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, with Arlie Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Charleston Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ware Funeral Home.
