Bessie Lee Adkins, 82, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at her residence.
She was born in Branchland, West Virginia, on July 26, 1933, to the late Elijah and Minnie Bell (Tooley) Adkins.
Bessie was a member of Circleville Church of Christ and retired from the Techniglass Company in Columbus.
She is survived by her children, Bernard (Judi) Adkins of Amanda, Kevin Adkins of Columbus and Minnett (Richard) Steele of Chillicothe; granddaughters, Carla (Blake) Craft of South Korea, Brandy Adkins and Terra Adkins, both of Amanda; great-granddaughters, Aysha Craft and Avery Adkins; step-grandchildren, Richard Bryant of California, Richelle (Travis) Fair of Leesburg and Jason (Amber Stevens) Steele of Chillicothe;; sisters, Alpha Childers of East Fultonham, Corine Brafford of Burlington, Maxine Adkins of Lancaster, Kate (Haskell) Mills of Logan, West Virginia, and Joan Watson of Liberty Center; 11 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Adkins; granddaughter, Heidi Jo Adkins; daughter-in-law, Shiela Adkins; five sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral service will at noon on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastors Jimmy Carter and Jack Abels officiating. Burial to follow in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to service on Saturday at the funeral home.
