John Vernon Howsmon, 89, of Clarksburg, passed away on March 6, 2016.
He was born on Jan. 29, 1927, in Pickaway County, to John and Mae (Hooks) Howsmon.
He was a World War II United States Merchant Marine veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annalu (Weaver) Howsmon; son, Larry; and by siblings, Forrest Howsmon and Dan Eitel.
John is survived by his children, John, Jack (Vicky) and Frank Howsmon; and by grandchildren, Misty and Michele.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
