CIRCLEVILLE – Students at Circleville Elementary School got an unexpected day off Monday due to an electrical problem in the building.
John Edgar, superintendent of the Circleville City School District, said the problem began over the weekend when the power began kicking off every couple of hours and had to be reset.
“We had City Electric and AEP on site trying to figure out the problem,” Edgar said. “AEP determined it wasn’t their issue, and it was something internal in the building.”
Edgar said it was about 2 a.m. Monday when City Electric crews identified the problem in the system, and they must now get a part from Columbus to make the necessary repairs.
Edgar said he remains hopeful the issue will be resolved quickly and school can resume on Tuesday at the elementary school.
“I surely hope so,” Edgar said. “That’s the plan, but at this point, I don’t know for sure.”
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
