Loving wife and mother, Nancy Sue Hart, age 69, of Laurelville, passed from this life on March 1, 2016, after a battle with cancer.
She was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Lancaster, the daughter of Boyd and JoAnn (Murdock) Shaw.
Nancy leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Rollie W. Hart; son, Rodney (Kelly) Hart of Laurelville; son, Mickey Hart of Columbus; daughter, Melissa Tatman of Laurelville; grandsons, Caleb Haddox and Lucas Haddox of Laurelville; granddaughter, Mallory (Austin) Whitt of Circleville; mother-in-law, Eunice Hart of South Bloomingville; brother, Mike (Cheryl) Shaw of Laurelville; brother, Tom (Cheryl) Shaw of Madisonville, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Denny (Barb) Hart of Circleville; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and many close and special friends, including Alice Dille-Smith.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Barbara Mills; and longtime business partner, Sue McNichols.
Nancy attended South Bloomingville’s Benton Township School and graduated from Laurelville High School in 1965. She was an organizing member of the Laurelville Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary. Nancy is best known as the co-proprietor of the Village Café in Laurelville.
Nancy’s generosity to local charities and people in need is renowned. More importantly, she offered her caring ear and was a mentor to many members of her family, friend circle and beyond. Nancy will be sadly missed but not forgotten by her loving family, friends and community.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. There will be no graveside service. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Nancy’s name to Fair HoPe Hospice, the Laurvelville Volunteer Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
