Roy Allen “Rat” Taylor, 76, of Bainbridge, died 4:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe.
He was born Sept. 16, 1939, in Bainbridge, the son of the late James and Iloe Grandstaff Taylor.
On June 8, 1963, he married Eleanor Maxine Skaggs, who died Nov. 23, 2012.
He is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Roger) Jolly of Circleville and Janora (Ron) Leasure of Chillicothe; two grandsons, Jason (Tiffany) Taylor and Ronald “Trey” Leasure III, both of Chillicothe; three great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Jaxson and Cohen Taylor; and a sister, Linda Mendenhall of Chillicothe.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, James Taylor; three sisters, Ruth Corns, Jane Ledford and Hazel Davey; and two brothers, Jack and Harry Taylor.
Roy was an Air Force veteran and member of the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge. He was also a past member of the Moose Lodge in Sabina and the IBEW.
Friends may visit with Roy’s family from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge with a brief service following. Interment will be in the Bainbridge Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
