Karl Eldon Parcels, 77, passed away on Jan. 23, 2016, at his home in Marysville after recently celebrating his birthday and his anniversary with his beloved wife of 59 years, Martha (Streber) Parcels.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sons, Bryan (Betty) Parcels of Urbana, Barry (Tammy) Parcels of Urbana and Brent Parcels of Marysville; daughter, Karla Parcels (Frank Masters) of Marysville; grandchildren, Breanne Parcels, Bryce Parcels, Brittany (Tony) Todd and Jordan Pierce; great-granddaughters, Autum and Khloe Parcels; and great-grandsons, J.T. and Matthew Todd; siblings, Regina (Dan) Bremer and Roger (MaryAnn) Parcels of Dublin; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Karl was born in Circleville and was the oldest son of Raymond and Sara Jane (Huber) Parcels. He began his first career as a meat cutter with A&P supermarkets, which led to his move to Urbana after a company transfer and working his way up through the ranks to management.

After leaving A&P, he spent the rest of his professional time as an entrepreneur, operating the Montgomery Ward catalog store in Bellefontaine and retiring after several years as the owner of Urbana Electric, a GE appliance franchise.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no funeral service. Entombment will be at a later date at Oak Dale Cemetery in Urbana.

Arrangements are being handled by the Mannasmith Funeral Home, and condolences may be expressed to the family at www.mannasmithfuneralhome.com.
