George H. Haughn, 84, of Laurelville, died on Jan. 15, 2016, at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center surrounded by his family.

George was born on March 22, 1931, the son of the late James Haughn and Ethel Mercer.

He was a 1949 graduate of the Laurelville-Perry High School.

On Feb. 11, 1955, he married the late Ann Haughn, and they remained life long residents of Laurelville.

George is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Harold) Arledge of Laurelville; sons, James C “J.C.” (DeeJah) Haughn of Laurelville, and George A “Tony” (Marsha) Haughn of Adelphi; grandchildren, Heather (Joe) Easter of Kingston, Nicole (Roger) Shaffer of Circleville, Daniel Arledge of Laurelville, Nakiah Haughn of Laurelville, Austin Haughn of Laurelville, Ashley Haughn of Buckeye Lake and Kaley (Charley) Warner of Ashville; great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Zachary Easter, Alexandra, Charley and Chase Warner, Izabella and Azlin McClain, and Titan Haughn; special brothers-in-law, Jeffery and Terry Unger of Adelphi; and many other special family members and friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years.

George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War as a tank operator. He was also a member of the Local 18 Operator Engineers Union and the Logan Elm Masonic Lodge #624, Kingston.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, with Rev. Jim Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hill’s with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m.
