Roger F. Kaehler, 82, died at 5:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at his residence.
He was born on April 30, 1933, in Wapakoneta, to the late Frederick and Carrie (Schuler) Kaehler.
On Dec. 25, 1980, he married Dixie Lee Hord, and she preceded him in death on March 11, 2004.
Surviving are daughter, Karen (Steve) Creek of Mulberry Grove, Illinois; four grandchildren, Jacob Hart, Abby Creek, Aaron Creek and Dawson Creek; and a sister, Carol (James) Buchanan of Lexington, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Regula.
Roger was a retired press operator for the Columbus Dispatch and St. Louis Post Dispatch newspapers, retiring in 1991 after 40 years of service. He was a student at the Ohio School for the Deaf, where he was a member of the Spartans football and basketball team. He was a member of the Deaf Anglers Club.
Roger enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and going out to eat with friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016.
