Carolyn Sue Smith, 72, of Orient, passed away on Jan. 5, 2016.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1943, in Chillicothe, to Ernest and Frances (Bowles) Cockrell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Ernestine Lowry, Leroy and Harold Cockrell and Chris Smith.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Fred Smith; children, Rose Walters, Dan (Anita) Smith, Melinda (Steve) Short, Steve (Toni) Smith and Jennifer (Joe) Farley; 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, Pastor Joy Stanforth officiating, with burial to follow in Beckett Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
