One killed in crash on U.S. 62

DARBY TOWNSHIP – One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday on U.S. Route 62 just north of London Road.

The male victim’s name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin, according to Detective Casey Thress, Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday as the male was traveling southbound on U.S. Route 62 in a white Toyota Sienna minivan. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and traveled several hundred feet before striking a large tree in front of a residence.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. John Ellis, Pickaway County Coroner.

Crews from Tri-County Joint Fire District handled the crash scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
