Joseph D. Dunham, 81, of Ashville, passed away Friday, Dec. 18, 2015.
He was born on Aug. 10, 1934, in Scioto County, to the late James and Pearl (Gilbert) Brantley Dunham.
Joseph was a farmer, had been a barber for a number of years in Columbus and retired from Brown Implement in Ashville. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and Navy and a member of the Pickaway County Farm Bureau.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Brantley; and sisters, Martha Pratt, Helen Young, Lucille Lutz, Oeida Mertins and Mary Dunham.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sheila June (Legg); son, Douglas Wade (Doris Ann) Dunham of Ashville; sister, Amanda Salyers of Circleville; brother, James Brantley; grandchildren, Jessica Jo Dunham of Ashville, Andrew Corey Dunham of Ashville and Jill Rebecca (Branden) Tussing of Fairborn; great-grandsons, Gavin Curtis Dunham and Mica Parker Tussing; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville. Visitation will also be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, with a funeral service to follow in Waverly at Botkin-Hornback Funeral Home, 314 E. North St., Waverly, with Reverend Danny Eitel officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Etna Cemetery, Pike County.
