Susane G. “Sue” Phillips, 85, of Circleville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born Oct. 11, 1930, in Dayton, the daughter of Henry and Leona (Hockey) Granzow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Robert N. Phillips in 2012; sister, Doris Mann; and brother, Robert Granzow.
Sue was a graduate of The Ohio State University where she was a member Alpha Chi Omega. She was a member of Community UMC and Outreach Ministries, as well as an active member of Circleville Presbyterian Church in recent years.
Sue was a member of the American Association of University Women, enjoyed gourmet cooking, playing bridge and loved the Circleville Pumpkin Show. She was involved in many community projects and made friends wherever she went.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Sue is survived by sons, Robert N. (Marie) Phillips Jr. of Westerville and David R. (Heidi) Phillips of Rockford, Michigan; daughter, Jan (Dr. Michael) Phillips-Clar, La Jolla, California; grandchildren, Austin Neale Phillips and Kaitlyn A. Phillips; and sister-in-law, Mary Granzow.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at The Presbyterian Church, 134 E. Mound St., Circleville, with Pastor Jeri-Lynne Bouteres, Dr. Doyne Wiggins and Rev. Richard Westinghouse officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home.
