Donald L. Morris

Donald Lee Morris, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Nov. 10, 2015.

Don was born on Sept. 2, 1937, in Williamsport.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Norma Jean Mossbarger Morris; daughter, Michelle Dyer; son, Todd Morris and his wife Belinda; grandchildren, Miranda and Charles Wilde, Amanda LeMaster, Jimmy Jones and step granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Moore; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Don was predeceased by his mother, Annabelle Brust Hastings; father, Carl (Ritha A.) Morris; step-father, Alfred Hastings; and step-brother, David Hastings.

Following graduation from Williamsport High School in 1955, Don served in the US Navy until 1958, continuing in the Navy Reserve until 1963. He was Past Commander of the Joseph Ellsworth White Post 483 Frankfort American Legion and AMVETS Post Ohio Four.

Don was a vital, active member of his community, volunteering at the Chillicothe Veteran’s Administration Hospital and Adena Regional Medical Center. Don gave freely of his time and energy to the support of the Masonic Orders of which he was a member, including Past Master of Frankfort Lodge #309, Scottish Rite Temple, Ross Shrine Club, Aladdin Shrine Temple, Past Patron of the Frankfort Order of the Eastern Star and Aladdin Hillbillies Clan 8.

Don worked for DuPont, Circleville, for 35 years before retiring. Since retirement Don and his wife enjoyed traveling and their winter home in Tucson, Arizona. He was most content with his grandchildren and when out-of-doors.

Friends may visit with the Morris family from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort. A Masonic service will be held at 5 p.m. with a funeral service to follow, officiated by Pastor Dan Bennett. In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation will follow and burial of the cremains will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to the two organizations close to Don’s heart: Frankfort Post 483 American Legion, PO Box 4, Frankfort OH 45628; and the Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229.
