CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Pickaway County residents will soon be able to take their driver’s license examinations in Circleville, eliminating the need to travel to neighboring counties for testing.
Pickaway County Clerk of Courts Grant Davis announced that the county’s Title Department has entered into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Public Safety to begin offering driver examinations locally.
The new service will fill a gap for residents seeking to obtain their driver’s licenses, who previously had to travel outside Pickaway County to complete their examinations.
“We have been coordinating closely with the state BMV to roll this out, and we are happy to fill this much-needed void here in Pickaway County,” Davis said.
Initially, driver examinations will be offered during regular business hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Both appointments and walk-ins will be accepted, giving residents options for completing their examinations.
County officials also plan to expand examination hours as the program develops, with the goal of making the service available to as many Pickaway County residents as possible.
Additional information about examination hours, scheduling and availability will be posted on the Pickaway County Clerk of Courts website at www.pickawaycountyclerk.com as the program gets underway.
The addition of driver examinations in Circleville will allow new drivers to complete another step toward obtaining their licenses without leaving the county.
