Ashville – As spring unfolds, Pickaway County gears up for a series of ambitious road projects aimed at enhancing safety and infrastructure across the region.

One of the most significant endeavors slated for this year is the resurfacing of U.S. 23, spanning from N. Court St. to South Bloomfield. This project, with an estimated cost of $5 million, is set to commence in April 2024 and conclude by October 2024. During construction, motorists can expect one lane of traffic to be maintained in each direction on U.S. 23.

Additionally, plans are in place to address safety concerns at the intersection of State Route 762 and Ashville Pike. The proposed solution involves the construction of a single-lane roundabout, with work scheduled to begin sometime between April 2024 and wrap up by October 2024. While the roundabout takes shape, Ashville Pike will undergo a 9-day closure at SR 762, accompanied by a detour. Cost of 5 Million dollars will come from the state for this improvement.

In a bid to improve road conditions within the city of Circleville, pavement repairs are slated for State Route 56 and U.S. 22. With an estimated project cost of $910,000, repairs are set to commence in June 2024 and conclude by November 2024. Motorists should anticipate daily lane closures during construction, with one lane of two-way traffic maintained under the supervision of flaggers.

Furthermore, a critical infrastructure upgrade is planned for U.S. 62 near Harrisburg Rd, where a culvert replacement project is on the horizon. This $430,000 endeavor, scheduled to start in August 2024 and finish by September 2024, will necessitate a 21-day closure of U.S. 62, accompanied by a detour.

Lastly, pedestrian safety enhancements are on the agenda for Ashville Pike in the Village of Ashville. The installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons and lighting, with a project cost of $110,000, is anticipated to commence in September 2024 and conclude by November 2024. Temporary lane closures may be experienced during this period.

With a comprehensive slate of road projects underway, Pickaway County looks ahead to a future marked by enhanced safety and improved infrastructure for its residents and visitors alike.
