
A Pickaway County man is under investigation for allegedly embezzling more than $100,00 dollars from his employer, Agroscapes Inc. who reported the suspected theft to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office on December 16, 2024, after discovering that an employee had been wire transferring company funds into a personal account.
According to the company, the theft was first noticed on July 22, 2024, when a payment of $2,253.90, meant for a Company, was instead deposited into the employee’s personal checking account. Minks identified the account based on matching routing and account numbers used for payroll deposits.
The employee, identified as Chad Scott, had been responsible for accounts payable at Agroscapes since March 2024. An internal investigation was launched, revealing that this was not an isolated incident. He reported that bank records from Vinton County National Bank showed a pattern of similar transactions over several months, totaling over 100,000 dollars.
Chad Scott, 49 was arrested today and charge with aggravated Theft, a fourth-degree felony in Ohio can result in a prison sentence of 2–8 years. The penalty can also include a fine of up to $15,000 and a permanent criminal record. Chad is currently being held with a 100,000 dollar bond at the jail.
