Pickaway County Emergency Management Agency Alerts Public of Planned Inmate Escape Exercise

Pickaway County, Ohio – The Pickaway County Emergency Management Security Agency has issued an advisory regarding an upcoming exercise at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, Corrections Reception Center (CRC) in Orient.

Scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, beginning at 10:20 a.m., the CRC will be conducting a simulated inmate escape exercise. During this exercise, personnel from the facility will be stationed at various checkpoints, with visible weapons as part of the simulation.

It is important to emphasize that this is only a drill and there is no actual threat to public safety. The purpose of this exercise is to assess and enhance the readiness of CRC staff in the event of an emergency situation.
