Perry County OH- Fatal Crash Details Involving Tractor on SR204 Released

Hopewell Township – The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on State Route 204 east of Glenford in Perry County. The crash occurred on July 11, 2020 at approximately 1:56 PM.

Mahlan M. Keim, age 19, of Glenford was traveling east on State Route 204 in a John Deere tractor. Ray P. White, age 45, of Thornville was traveling west on State Route 204 in a 2001 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck when he traveled left of center and struck the tractor head on. The Chevrolet pickup truck then caught fire. Mr. White was not wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Keim did not report any injuries.

Troopers from the Lancaster Post of the Highway Patrol, along with Hopewell Township Fire and EMS, and the Perry County Coroner investigator responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation at this time. The Highway Patrol urges all motorists to use all available safety equipment.
