Bainbridge – Us Army Corps of Engineers will start moving waters this morning to prepare for winter.

Water drawdown in the wintertime is used to manage several things, one being aquatic weed problems, that can be controlled by reducing water down. Regular maintenance can be done during this time when recreation isn’t as common. This also helps reduce shoreline erosion from Ice push in the wintertime and gives access to docks seawalls for inspection and repair.

US Army Paint Creek posted a statement, ” we will begin drawing down to winter pool, elevation 787.5, in order to increase storage capacity this winter. The outflow will be flowing at an increased rate so that we can reach winter pool by December 1. Please message or contact our office with any questions.”
